I am thankful for

I am thankful for my friends. My friends help me with school when I need it, and they help me make important decisions. My friends get me out of the house, and we experience awesome adventures together. Overall, my friends make me a better person. I don't know what I would do without them. Today in class we finished our projects. It was a bit weird at first trying to figure out how to add voice overs, but we quickly got the hang of it. It is an important skill to be able to record yourself, maybe for work or for school, and I am sure I will have to use the skill again in the future.

an adventure I would like to go on

I would like to fight evil wizards on dragonback and fight valiantly for the king. Of course dragons aren't real though, neither are wizards, and we got rid of kings a long time ago. Wouldn't it be so cool to soar through the skies on a big fire breathing lizard though? I think it would be neat to prove my worth through swordsmanship, or go questing ins dungeons for magical loot. Today in class we worked on our projects for a perfect son.  I had to think hard about gender roles in our society and my family. It was hard to relate to the characters in the story because they were mostly all men, but it was interesting seeing things from a different POV.

a place you never wanted to leave.

Prompt: Write about a place you never wanted to leave. A place I wanted to never leave was my good friend's car. We met during my freshman year, but she left our highschool soon after. I rarely get to see her and when I do it never feels long enough. I find myself dragging my feet or subconsciously making excuses to prolong whatever activities we spent together. At the end of the day though it is inevitable when she takes me home and I have to say goodbye.  Today in class we watched videos about Indian culture.  I thought that the head bobble was really neat. I myself move my head around a lot when I talk, and I think the next time I catch myself doing it I will remember the head bobble.

shoes

In class today we read and answered questions about an article from NewsELA. The article was about recycling and reusing shoes. I actually found the article interesting since I recently had to buy new shoes because my old pair was beginning to break down. My last two pairs of shoes were cheap quality but I loved their designs, and I was quite sad to retire them because of how worn out they had become. Unfortunately I don't think I can repair them, but the article did make me think about how I could recycle them so they don't end up in landfills. Tomorrow is the band's fall concert, and although I am a bit nervous I think I will perform good!
